With the Opening Day looming, Boulders' Manager Jamie Keefe has made the hard decisions in trimming the roster to its 22-player limit. Familiar faces will be returning but the fate of the 2018 squad will also be placed in the hands of several newcomers, as the Boulders set their sights on returning to the post-season for the fifth straight season.

Justin Topa, who finished last season with an impressive 14-3 record and a 3.49 ERA, has been named the Opening Day starter and hopes to reclaim the form that saw him post a 6-0 record over his first seven starts in 2017.

Featured returnees include catcher/DH Marcus Nidiffer, as the team captain also embraced a new role as the team's pitching coach. Cody Regis, Mike Montville, Mikael Mogues, Aaron Wilson, and Alex Herceg are expected to provide the pop in the batting order.

Returning pitchers feature Tommy Lawrence, Nick Sarianides, Matt Kostalos, and a very familiar - and tall - face returns in the 6'10 frame of Garrett Johnson. The lanky left-hander last appeared in pro ball with the Boulders back in 2013, Jamie Keefe's first season at the help.

Off-season acquisitions of note include infielder JC Rodriguez, and pitchers Travis Hansen and Travis Hissong.

The Boulders square off with the Sussex County Miners on Opening Day, Thursday, May 17, in a 6:30 pm start, with post-game fireworks immediately following. The teams play a 6:30 double-header on Saturday (two 7-inning games), with Fireworks between games. And Sunday Funday wraps up the series with a 1:35 start.
