Kevin Krause hit a walkoff home run to deep left centerfield to lead the Rockland Boulders to a double-header split against the Sussex County Miners, with Rockland dropping the opener by a 6-5 score before capturing the nightcap by 8-7.

Jared Mederos hit a three-run homer to make the difference in the opener, though Cody Regis drew the Boulders close with a three-run shot in the final inning. Regis had two hits to lead Rockland and Nick Sarianides started and took the loss.

Sussex jumped to a 3-0 lead in the opening inning of Game 2, but Regis connected for his second of the day, a two-run shot in the bottom half to close the gap to 3-2. Rockland rallied to take a 7-4 lead into the final frame only to see the Miners battle back to draw even.

That lasted three pitches into the home half, when Krause drove one toward the bleachers in deep left-center to send the Palisades Credit Union Park crowd home with a victory. Kyle Hansen drew the win in relief, while Krause, Jared McDonald and Mike Montville had two hits each.

The Boulders return to action Tuesday night to start a three-game series against the Quebec Capitales in a rematch of last season's Can Am League Championship series.
