Jared McDonald hit home runs in the third and fifth innings to drive in three runs in the Boulders’ 5-2 win over the Québec Capitales on Thursday. Cody Regis also scored a run in the third after hitting a triple. Kevin Krause tacked on Rockland’s final run in the eighth inning on a Conrad Gregor single.
Travis Hissong worked six strong innings to earn the win and Kyle Hansen tossed a perfect ninth to pick up his second save of the season.
After taking two out of three games against the Capitales in a rematch of last year’s league championship series, the Boulders go on the road for a seven-game road trip starting Friday. Rockland is scheduled to play the Trois-Rivières Aigles for the first three games and travel to Québec for the next four.
The Boulders’ next home game is scheduled for Friday, June 1 at 6:30 p.m. against the New Jersey Jackals.
