Rockland dropped the second game of a three-game set with the New Jersey Jackals 7-4 Saturday night. Mikael Mogues sent a solo shot well over the right-center fence in the bottom of the fourth to get the Boulders on the board. A single by Jared McDonald brought in two more runs after a throwing error allowed Mikael Mogues to score after Conor Bierfeldt. McDonald then scored on a wild pitch by Nate Gercken. Other than that, Rockland couldn’t generate more momentum to close the gap further.

New Jersey rocked Boulders’ starter Tyler Lawrence for four runs in the top half of the second inning to take an early lead. After two scoreless innings in the third and fourth, Dean Greene smacked a three-run bomb into the bleachers in right field to stretch the Jackal lead to six and chase Lawrence from the game. However, there was a bright spot for the Boulders, as Marc Huberman, Nick Kennedy and Matt Kostalos delivered 4-plus combined innings of one-run ball in relief of Lawrence.
