The Rockland Boulders handled the New Jersey Jackals 8-6 to take two of three from Jersey. The Jackals got to Travis Hissong early on, scoring two runs in the first after loading the bases. The right-hander settled down though, not allowing a run through his final five innings. Conor Bierfeldt had himself one heck of a day, going 3-3 with 3 RBIs. He launched his first homer as a Boulder out to the concourse in left field. Mike Montville scored in the second after two passed balls and a Kevin Krause groundout took him all around the bases.

After a few innings of silence, Rockland came alive again in the fifth. Bierfeldt came through again, delivering an RBI single, and Cody Regis hit a sac fly to center, stretching the lead to 4-2. Later in the inning, Marcus Nidiffer added an RBI double to make it 5-2. New Jersey starter and former big-leaguer Mat Latos was ejected from the game after repeatedly barking at home plate umpire Tyler Thurmond. In the sixth, Mikael Mogues hit a very long RBI single that was inches away from a home run off the top of the right field wall. Conor Bierfeldt continued his strong day and Rockland’s productive sixth inning, smacking an RBI double to left field. Kevin Krause smacked a homer in the eighth to pad the lead further.
