The Rockland Boulders earned an 8-7 win over the Trois-Rivieres Aigles Sunday evening, ceding two of three games at Palisades Credit Union Park. After facing a 2-0 deficit, the Boulders woke up in the second. Cody Regis, Kevin Krause and J.C. Rodriguez played small-ball, reaching base on three singles, and then scored on two sacrifice flies off the bats of Matt Dacey and Mikael Mogues, as well as a passed ball, to make it 3-2 Rockland. However, the Aigles answered with three runs in the fifth to retake a 5-3 lead. Rockland’s starting pitcher, Garrett Johnson, left the game in the fifth inning with an apparent arm injury.

Things got interesting in the bottom of the ninth, as Rockland rallied back nicely. The Boulders plated two runs to tie the game 5-5, though they couldn’t avoid extras by scoring a third time. The Aigles appeared to have taken the lead on a blooper to right field but Conor Bierfeldt made an exceptional play to rob the run and keep the game level. In the eleventh, the Aigles added two runs to their lead. However, the Boulders rallied for three runs, culminating in a Conrad Gregor RBI single to seal the 8-7 win.
