Veteran Bats .500 over Six Game Streak

The Can Am League has announced that Rockland Boulders infielder/outfielder Jared McDonald has been named Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending August 5.

In his fourth season with the Boulders, the veteran wielded the hot bat, hitting safely in all six games, including five multiple-hit efforts in that span. Overall he batted an even .500 (12-for-24) with two homers, four RBI and seven runs scored as Rockland split the six contests.

Shifting between his normal slot in the outfield and a fill-in role at second base this season, Jared has raised his average to .291 overall, which would be his best mark with the Boulders since placing second in the league with a .337 batting average in 2015.

McDonald's award is the fourth captured this season by Boulders pitchers, with Cody Regis (May 27), Conrad Gregor (June 17) and Marcus Nidiffer (July 15) accomplishing the feat. A trio of pitchers has won Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week kudos, including David Palladino (June 24, July 15) and Garrett Johnson (July 29).
