Marcus Nidiffer hit the Boulders’ 116th home run of the season on Sunday in the seventh inning of an eventual Rockland 6-0 win over the Ottawa Champions in Canada. In doing so, the Boulders have set a Can-Am League record for home runs in a single season, breaking the previous record of 115 set by Rockland last year.

Kevin Krause continued to swing a hot bat, hitting 3-5 with two doubles and two runs scored. Although his 14-game hitting streak ended on Saturday, Krause’s on-base streak is now at 18 games.

Strong Boulders pitching from Brian Ernst, Nick Kennedy and Tommy Lawrence shut out the Champions, allowing a combined four hits and one walk while striking out five. No Ottawa players reached third base in the game.

The Boulders return home Monday to continue their run toward the playoffs, opening a three-game series against the New Jersey Jackals at 7:00 p.m.
