Things were looking bleak for Rockland after they allowed nine first-inning runs to the visiting New Jersey Jackals.

However, that was very short lived as they were able to post seven runs of their own in the bottom of the second inning. Mikael Mogues put Rockland on the board by hitting a Grand Slam. The Boulders were not done scoring during the inning as Marcus Nidiffer was also able to homer, slamming a three-run job to make the score 9-7.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Mike Montville and Conor Bierfeldt slammed back to back home runs, and the Boulders tied the game at nine.

Montville was not done, as he was able to power his second home run of the game, this time a three-run shot giving the Boulders a 12-9 lead. Nidiffer made the score 13-9 in the bottom of the sixth, and the home team was able to take game one of the doubleheader 13-10.

In the second game, Jason Agresti went 3-3 with two solo homers, but it was not enough as the Boulders fell to the Jackals 6-3.

The two teams will meet in the rubber match on Wednesday, August 15, at Palisades Credit Union Park starting at 7:00 pm.
