Rockland dropped its season opener with the Ottawa Champions 11-6 on Thursday night at Palisades Credit Union Park.

After Rockland trailed 1-0 early they quickly bounced back with a home run from Rylan Sandoval. Ottawa would add another run on in the top of the third to take the lead, but Rockland bounced back.

In the third inning, Mike Montville tied the game, and in the next Cody Regis hit a solo home run for Rockland to take the lead.

The lead was short lived as Jordan Caillouet hit a Grand Slam for the Champions. Ottawa would never relinquish the lead, as the Champions would win the game 11-6.

The series with Ottawa continues tomorrow night at Palisades Credit Union Park, starting at 7:00 pm.
