The Rockland Boulders closed out the home portion of the 2018 regular season in record-setting fashion despite suffering a 3-0 defeat to the New Jersey Jackals in Sunday's finale.

Sunday's game attracted a franchise-record crowd of 7,336 to Palisades Credit Union Park, shattering the previous mark of 6,712 established just 24 hours earlier. Including Friday's series opener, Rockland's final three regular-season home games amassed 16,791, marking the biggest attendance weekend since the franchise's inception in 2011.

After capturing the first two games of the set, the Boulders failed to generate any offense against a trio of New Jersey hurlers, being held to just five hits on the night. Lee Sosa was tagged with the loss in his Rockland debut, allowing three earned runs in four innings of work.

With their playoff Magic Number down to just four, the Boulders travel to Canada for eight games, with four each in Trois-Rivieres and Ottawa. The playoffs begin on Wednesday, September 5, with teams and pairings to be determined.
