Chris Pennell carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning and Reggie Wilson homered with three RBI as the Rockland Boulders captured a 4-2 victory over the Trois-Rivieres Aigles at Stade Stereo + in Quebec, Canada. Combined with the New Jersey Jackals' split in a double-header against the Sussex County Miners, Rockland's Magic Number is down to just 1 to clinch the franchise's fifth straight Can Am League playoff appearance.

Making just his second start since joining the Boulders less than a week ago, Pennell traded zeroes through four scoreless innings before Wilson's third home run of the season gave the visitors a 2-0 lead in the fifth, and a pair of errors allowed the Aigles an unearned run in the home sixth to trim the deficit while preserving the right-hander's no-hit bid.

Wilson knocked in an insurance tally in the seventh but a pair of singles in the home half set the table for Trois-Rivieres, ending Pennell's night. Frank Moscatiello worked out of the jam in relief and Nick Kennedy worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

The Boulders now hold a two-game lead over T-R for third place in the Can Am standings with a pair remaining in this four game series. Rockland concludes the regular season with four road contests against the Ottawa Champions, with first round playoff action set to start on Wednesday, September 5.
