On the heels of last week's news that the Boulders have signed former New York Yankees first round draft pick Cito Culver, Rockland has announced five new players to the 2019 preseason roster.

Matt Oberste - This corner-infielder was signed by the New York Mets in the 7th round of the 2013 draft. He spent all of his six seasons in affiliated ball in the Mets' system, and last year he split time between Las Vegas (AAA), and Binghamton (AA) before finishing the year with the Atlantic League's Somerset Patriots.

Chase Harris - Acquired earlier this off-season, Harris is a 2014 selection of the Philadelphia Phillies and is expected to bring his terrific glove to center field for the Boulders, while adding speed to the lineup. Having played all of last season for the Ottawa Champions, Chase batted .296 with 24 stolen bases and 55 runs scored.

Audie Afenir - Another selection of the New York Yankees, the 2015 draftee will compete for the catcher's position and can play first base. Afenir is also no stranger to new Boulders' manager Kevin Baez, having finished last season with the Atlantic League's Long Island Ducks.

Brett Schneider - A local product, Brett is no stranger to the area, having pitched his collegiate ball at nearby Dominican College. Last year, the right-hander played with the Vallejo Admirals of the Pacific Association, posting a solid 2.53 ERA with five saves.

Ian Hardman - Selected by the Houston Astros in the 2016 draft, the tall righty will vie for a spot in the Rockland bullpen. Standing 6'5, Ian toiled in the Astros and Detroit Tigers' organization before finishing the 2018 campaign with a brief stint for the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association.
