Biography:

Drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 41st round in 2009 out of Chatham High School in New Jersey . Butler chose to attend the University of Connecticut over the Majors.

He struggled as a starter at UCONN, but in 2013 was switched to the bullpen, and began to excel, recording fives saves during his senior season, backing up a 2.75 ERA, a 3-2 record, in 24 games, and 39.1 innings pitched. He also struck out 23 batters compared to the 17 he walked.

His strongest professional season was with Rockland last season, when, in ten appearances, he pitched 14.2 innings, with a .750 WHIP, six strikeouts, and no home runs allowed. He has also pitched in the Atlantic League and the Frontier League.
